The Project is one of the largest integrated drainage tunnels in the region. The Dubai Deep Tunnel Storm Water System will drain 40% of the entire urban area of the city. It will serve the whole of Dubai South, which is home to Dubai’s new airport and the EXPO 2020. The works under this Engineering, Procurement, Delivery, Installation, Testing and Commissioning Contract DS 233/1, consist of Design and Construction of Terminal Pump Station with dimensions 150mX175m (Foundation level -62.5m).

The main Contract package is design and built and includes the construction of the two pumping stations 55m deep and an outfall facility at the sea in the Jebel Ali Free Zone Area.

Works executed include:

  1. Management and workforce for the execution of the in situ works
  2. Erection and Dismantling of Slipform
  3. High shaft walls and 60m Diameter Shaft, in an uninterrupted 24/7 slip-form operation for 20 days in a row
  4. Fixing of ready-cut and bend steel reinforcement, including couplers. Pouring and finishing of ready-mix concrete
